Dr. Mitra Mirhassani
Mitra Mirhassani is an associate professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Windsor. Her research interests include Neuromorphic Engineering, Arithmetic optimization, and Hardware security. She is working with industry to create solutions for integrating security aspects incorporated in the early stages of the design into a complex system. She and her team are developing systems that are taking advantage of hardware biometrics to secure the system and ensure that data breach is reduced. The team is also focusing on the side-channel attacks, where the hackers can obtain information from the physical properties of the system. The team is developing methods for implementations of encryption systems that are immune to this type of attacks.
Mitra Mirhassani is a senior member of IEEE and is serving as the Associate Editor for IEEE Access Journal, Guest Associate Editor of IEEE Transaction on Computer Aided Design. She served as the vice-chair for Women in Engineering Affinity Group, IEEE South – East Michigan section until 2014, and currently is the Advisor for the WIE affinity group (SBA05331SB affinity group). She is a member of the IEEE Circuit and System Technical Committee – Neural Systems and Application, and IEEE Canada Conference Editorial Board since 2015. She served as the Publication Chair for 2009 IEEE International Conference on Electro/Information Technology, Neural Network Track Co-Chair for 2016-2018 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, and Finance Chair for 2016 IEEE CCECE, and special session co-chair for 2018 IEEE MIDWEST symposium.
