Jeremy DaCosta is the Director of Transit and Fleet services for the City of Kingston. Jeremy leads a team of more than 200 employees that provides public transit services to the residents of Kingston. Since arriving at Kingston Transit in 2010 Jeremy and his team have delivered 2 internally developed business plans which included, among other things, the introduction of Kingston’s Transit first express routes. Kingston Transit’s ridership growth surpassed 6 million trips for the first time in 2017; representing a growth in ridership of 66% since 2013.
Jeremy is a life long resident of Kingston and a graduate of the Queen’s University School of Business.
As a 2 adult, 3 child 1-car family, Jeremy not only manages Kingston Transit but he also relies on public transit every day for his travel needs. About 15 years ago Jeremy’s car died after multiple (yes, multiple) engine fires. His wife told him that he should try taking the bus. With much reluctance he gave it a try and he’s been hooked ever since.
